About the Role:

The Category Manager, Grocery will be responsible for developing & executing sourcing strategies to improve our cost structure, the quality of our products, the reliability of our supply chain, & will play a leading role in supporting innovation through new product development. You will oversee the management & optimization of our Grocery supply chain, own & develop our vendor relationships, lead initiatives to improve our ingredient quality, & continuously improve our end-to-end sourcing processes. As part of the Procurement team, you will play a key role in helping us deliver the best possible value to our customers.

You will:

• Refine & implement a sourcing & supply chain strategy for our grocery category that optimizes process, reduces risk, & improves our cost structure
• Build & maintain a strong supplier base that align with our company values; own relationships with our strategic suppliers, including performance management & innovation activities
• Leverage large internal datasets & industry benchmarks (including market, supplier, & SKU analysis) to drive continuous improvement, identify opportunities for cost reduction, & identify/implement best practices
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement, both internally & externally through data-driven reporting & effective project management to identify & drive opportunities for quality improvement & implement best practices
• Partner with our culinary team to prioritize & develop new products that deliver immediate & sustained benefit to the company & our customers 
• Develop & mentor a team of indirect reports
• Be the subject matter expert in all things related to grocery procurement
• All other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related discipline
• 5+ years of related work experience, with supply chain, operations, management consulting or strategic sourcing background
• Strong knowledge & interest in strategic sourcing & continuous improvement processes
• Experience leading & developing a team of direct & indirect reports
• Analytical & a problem-solving expertise, using data to drive decisions. Strong Excel skills are a must!
• The ability to influence, build & eectively communicate a strategic plan to stakeholders at all levels - ie. from buyers to the CEO
• Proactive, ambitious, & assertive: you take ownership of your work & think beyond the scope of a given assignment
• An entrepreneurial mindset & a passion for solving complex problems
