YOUR ROLE:
As the DAM Admin/Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, & support of the agency's Digital Asset Management system. This is a crucial role for ensuring that creative assets (such as images, videos, documents, & templates) are efficiently stored, easily accessible, & correctly tagged for use across various teams, including creative, marketing, production, & external partners. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the DAM system supports the agency's overall creative workflow, streamlining asset retrieval & enhancing collaboration across departments.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
DAM System Management
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, & updates of the DAM platform.
- Manage user permissions, access controls, & metadata templates to ensure appropriate usage & security of assets.
- Monitor & troubleshoot DAM system performance, address issues, & provide support to end users as needed.
- Ensure the DAM system is integrated with other internal tools (e.g., project management software, creative production tools, & external cloud services).
Asset Organization & Metadata Management
- Organize & tag assets using metadata standards & categories to ensure consistency & ease of search & retrieval.
- Develop & enforce best practices for uploading, storing, & archiving digital assets (images, videos, documents, etc.).
- Work with creative & marketing teams to develop & manage metadata taxonomies that are aligned with the agencys workflow & client needs.
Collaboration & Training
- Train & support users across departments on best practices for using the DAM system, including uploading assets, applying metadata, & searching for assets.
- Collaborate with the creative, account management, & production teams to ensure the DAM system meets their needs & supports their project timelines.
- Provide ongoing support & troubleshooting for teams using the DAM system.
Quality Control & Governance
- Ensure that digital assets are compliant with brand guidelines & that all files are correctly versioned & tagged.
- Monitor the integrity & consistency of the asset library & perform regular audits to ensure the system remains organized & up to date.
- Manage the digital asset lifecycle, including archiving or deleting outdated content, & ensuring that assets are kept current & relevant.
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate regular reports on system usage, asset search patterns, & storage health.
- Track & report any technical issues or improvements to management for system optimization.
- Provide insights into asset usage & asset request trends to help with future planning & procurement of digital content.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Continuously evaluate workflows & processes related to asset management to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements or system automation.
- Recommend new tools or practices to improve DAM operations or integration with other software tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Library Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Digital Asset Management or Project Management are a plus.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience working with DAM platforms in an advertising or marketing environment.
- Experience in managing creative digital assets (images, video, audio, documents) in a fast-paced agency or creative setting.
- Familiarity with creative software tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of cloud-based storage solutions & metadata standards is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with DAM platforms (e.g., Frontify, Bynder, Widen, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.).
- Strong understanding of file formats (MP4, MOV, PNG, JPEG, PDF, etc.), version control, & storage best practices.
- Working knowledge of metadata tagging & taxonomy creation to organize & categorize assets.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS & web-based technologies may be an advantage.

- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent problem-solving & troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams & communicate clearly.
- Proactive & self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

This range is specific to Chicago & multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience & training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
