Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director of Human Resources to join our People team.

About the role:

The Director of HR will lead & manage core HR functions, with a primary focus on compliance, employee relations, risk mitigation, & ensuring consistency in HR policies & practices across the organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership while providing operational oversight.

You will report into the Senior Director, Chief of Staff.

Work Location: This position is based in our Tempe, AZ office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings & events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $142,560 - $187,110 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants, & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, develop & deploy a vision & roadmap to support effective employee relations & HR compliance across the enterprise.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with federal, state & local laws & regulations leveraging key legal stakeholders for input & partnership.
  • Owns continuous improvement of employee relations process & tools with the ability to provide executive synthesis on complex & high-risk employee matters
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop a strategic & solutions-focused approach, which includes developing scalable, standardized frameworks, & coaching HR & people leaders.
  • Be a trusted advisor to leaders & colleagues on workplace concerns & handle highly confidential matters in partnership with counsel.
  • Be proactive & anticipate change, providing critical & timely input about consequences & implications of local law & best practices to all internal stakeholders
  • Lead the HR team through strategy execute & serve as an escalation point
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with stakeholders & external partners including but not limited to People, IT, Comms, Legal, Security, Finance, & supporting vendors.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR
  • 4+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of employee relations & policy design experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or commensurate experience

Bonus points:

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR or similar HR certifications
  • Experience it HR Acuity-ER platform
  • Experience building & presenting on executive level materials

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
