About the Team:
The Product Engineering organization is responsible for building, maintaining, & improving the end-user experiences that comprise our software platform. These experiences are full-stack solutions built atop a complex & robust data platform in order to support key security workflows for both third-party risk management & security self-assessment personas.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced & visionary Senior Director of Engineering to lead our Product Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background, strong leadership skills, & a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products. This role is crucial in driving the strategic direction & execution of our product engineering efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives & customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead, mentor, & inspire a team of engineering managers & software engineers. Develop & execute the strategic vision for product engineering in alignment with company goals.
- Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery. Ensure that products are designed, built, & delivered with high quality, scalability, & reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Design, & other stakeholders to define product requirements & roadmaps. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure seamless communication & coordination across teams.
- Technical Excellence: Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, & processes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement & technical excellence within the team.
- Innovation: Encourage innovation & experimentation within the team to explore new technologies & approaches. Stay abreast of industry trends & emerging technologies to ensure our products remain competitive.
- Operational Efficiency: Optimize engineering processes & workflows to enhance productivity & efficiency. Implement metrics & KPIs to track performance & drive improvements.
- Talent Management: Recruit, develop, & retain top engineering talent. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, & support to foster professional growth & career advancement.
- Budget Management: Manage the product engineering budget, including resource allocation & project expenses. Ensure financial accountability & optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing other managers in large, distributed teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience with modern software development practices (e.g., Agile, DevOps) & proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Scala, & Spark.
- Strong familiarity with distributed systems & large-scale data architectures.
- Leadership:
- Proven ability to lead & inspire high-performing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success in driving large-scale software projects from concept to delivery.
- Communication: Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering innovative & practical solutions.
- Security Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity principles & practices is highly desirable.

The estimated total compensation range for this position is $200,000 - 275,000 (base plus bonus). Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications & experience, & may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards & equity, among other company benefits.
