This team focuses on high-reuse components & real-time technology to power core product features that benefit millions of Box users every day. What is the tech stack you will be working with?

• Java Spring Boot for Box Hubs REST API server development.

• Node.js for Box Hubs GraphQL server development.

What is the product/project roadmap for your team & how does this role contribute to & impact the business/external customers?

• This team will grow into a horizontal Application Services team - building, owning, & maintaining middle-tier services that drive improvements, code reuse, & consistency across the Apps organization, create strong abstractions bridging the front-end & back-end & allowing those layers to iterate faster. In the near-term, this team will be focusing on the Hubs project, a major cross-functional effort enabling a completely new paradigm for how Box can help companies manage & expose content to their users

What are the biggest challenges & opportunities for this role?

• Challenges: contract alignment with back-end & front-end teams - understanding customer requirements & designing interfaces that can scale & be re-used effectively for different user cases

• Opportunities: massive business impact as the long-term goal will be for these Application Services to enable more rapid product iteration & driving substantial improvements to the customer experience
