As the Engineering Manager, you'll be tasked with building the long-term success for your organization by helping define the product vision, mentoring & growing talent, & being accountable for delivering results.
As an Engineering Manager on the Player Experience team, you will oversee the staffing & guidance of the team's engineers to make the core suite of tools used in the UI/UX development of League of Legends the best they can be. For this role, you'll report to a Senior Engineering Manager. You will guide individual contributors on their long journey of career development while collaborating with other teams & disciplines to ensure that our work improves the quality of life & effectiveness of those partners while also. Our platform is written in C++ & makes heavy use of the QT ecosystem for UI/UX & we also leverage Python for several utility needs. This role is based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Staff, manage, mentor, lead, & cultivate a team of 5 to 10 software engineers
- Support your team by working collaboratively with product, delivery, technical, & quality leads
- Ensure what we are building is serving the long-term goals of many content developers
- Coordinate individuals & external partners across the world in multiple time zones
- Design your team makeup, & hire so that it has the skills needed for your goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years working in an engineering management position on a team shipping large-scale, modular desktop applications
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience developing software desktop applications with a heavy emphasis on content pipelines
- Extensive experience in C/C++ development
- 2+ years of experience in game development industry
- 2+ years of experience working with UI/UX
