Taboola, the worlds largest content recommendation platform, is hiring a JavaScript Engineer to work on Taboolas flagship recommendations product.

What are some of the things you do on a day-to-day basis?

• Work on Taboolas recommendations ad formats & user experience  the backbone of the products of the company which stands at the intersection of end-users, publishers & advertisers
• Be responsible for creating, testing, deploying, monitoring, analyzing & maintaining all of a variety of new & innovative ad formats that reach billions of users & are used by thousands of advertisers (carousel, app install, video ads & many more)
• Make professional decisions based on big data & performance metrics of billions of users, while putting emphasis on business & page performance KPIs
• Collaborate with the Product, Data & UX team throughout the company to iterate on the design & implementation of our product.
• Stay up to date with latest browser features, Web APIs & related technologies such as Web Components, Lighthouse & Google Core Web Vitals, CDNs, A/B Testing at scale & many, many more

What are the skills a good Software Engineer needs to have?

• 5+ years programming experience in web development. Good understanding of vanilla JavaScript, CSS & HTML is a must. TypeScript knowledge is an advantage
• Experience with cross browser & multi device support both responsiveness & feature support
• Familiarity with advanced low-level javascript/web concepts such as Event Loop, Performance API, XHR/JSONP, Browser paint cycle
• Basic level of understanding of web fundamentals such as HTTP methods & headers, CDN & DNS, how HTTP servers work
• Team player, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment & an independent learner
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent

It would be great if you also have:

• Familiarity with any of the following: Google AMP, Lighthouse, ReactJS, Gulp/Rollup/Webpack, NPM, Java, Maven, Go Lang, Docker, BigQuery, MySQL, Kusto, Grafana
• Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Lean Startup, CI/CD, DevOps, TDD, Extreme Programming, SCRUM
