YOUR ROLE:

The Resource Planning Manager at RAPP is responsible for the strategic planning, allocation & management of resources across various projects & departments that support RAPP accounts.  This role involves collaborating across disciplines to plan & forecast resource needs, manage & monitor the progress of all sourcing processes & continuously optimizing resource allocations & utilizations. All of this helps RAPP teams ensure that the projects are staffed timely & can successfully meet its commitments & client expectations.

This role requires a highly organized professional with a strong attention to detail & experience with analyzing & reporting on complex data sets.  The Resource planning manager will be a natural collaborator, cultivating relationships across project managers, department heads, finance & human resources to drive the resourcing strategy for RAPP. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with project managers, department heads, & HR to understand project requirements, timelines, & resource needs.
  • Build & maintain resource complex, staff forecast plans to support multiple projects & accounts.
  • Monitor staffing & hiring processes to ensure all needs are filled on time to meet project & delivery commitments, partnering with human resources & finance to mitigate constraints
  • Evaluate existing resource assignments & actuals, balance workloads to mitigate over & under allocations & solve for competing priorities on constrained resources.
  • Lead & facilitate meetings to manage staff forecasts, allocation & assignment health, progress on staffing & any other resource planning initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate & up to date records of open needs, resource availability, skills, & project assignments
  • Build tools & processes to maintain & report on resource data, ensuring it is easily accessible & can be used to support decision making & strategic planning.
  • Design & build regular reports & dashboards on resource utilization, availability, & project status to provide insights to senior management & support strategic decision-making.
  • Use data analytics to identify trends, forecast future resource needs, & recommend adjustments to resource planning strategies.
  • Continuously enhance resource management processes, tools, & systems to improve efficiency, scalability, & data accuracy.
  • Implement best practices & innovative solutions to optimize resource planning & allocation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in resource management, project management, or a related field.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in MS Office including PowerPoint & Excel & dashboard development tools.
  • Proficiency in project & resource management software & tools. Ex. Workfront, Atlassian, MS Project, Smartsheet or similar
  • Ability to analyze data, generate actional insights & visually present for leadership & executive audiences.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills & attention to detail.

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections & collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

This range is specific to Chicago & multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience & training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
