Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. Our organization does more than teach girls to code; we're building a global movement to change culture & challenge systems that have kept girls out of technology. Ten years in, Girls Who Code is a major voice in the fight for gender equality & a thought leader in creating a more fair & equitable society & economy.
The Manager of Communications & Public Relations will drive Girls Who Code's external communications program. The role will be responsible for positioning Girls Who Code & its spokespeople as leaders in the fight for gender equality. This role will work across the entire communication portfolio, including press & media relations, inbound & proactive media opportunities, executive speaking & briefings, executive thought leadership such as op-eds, social media, & copywriting for our weekly newsletter.
The successful candidate will have more than five years of demonstrated communications & media relations experience at a consumer brand or PR agency. You are an exceptional writer & a natural storyteller, who can craft stories that shift hearts & minds. You are savvy about social media & digital platforms & excited to serve as a thought partner & manager to our Social Media Associate. You can work independently across multiple projects without losing sight of the details. And you're energized by & committed to our mission & the values of diversity, equity, & inclusion.
