The role:

We are looking for a Content Product Manager to join our Product Strategy team. Reporting to the Director of Research & Product Strategy, you will lead content strategy for our Assessment & Analytics portfolio, with a primary focus on the product Formative. Youll develop & maintain a clear, prioritized roadmap for content investments that advances both product vision & impact.

In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape learning science-aligned platform enhancements, ensuring that product & content development efforts align with district needs & reflect best practices in assessment design & data-driven instructional support.

Youll be responsible for generating original assessment & analytics content ideas grounded in data & a deep understanding of educator & student needs, as well as for proactively driving those ideas from concept through execution. A major early initiative will include leading the continued development of a cross-disciplinary item bank spanning ELA, Math, Science, & Social Studies. Youll also partner across teams to ensure that your recommended strategies are integrated, research-backed, & well-supported, helping the product serve a full range of classroom & district assessment needs.

Responsibility: Monitor & interpret key data to inform strategy

Duties: 

    • Track market trends, emerging research in learning science, & customer usage patterns.
    • Use both qualitative & quantitative data to identify needs & opportunities within the Formative ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership

Responsibility: Ensure effective collaboration across teams to execute strategy

Duties:

    • Partner with other members of the Research & Development division (including other content & platform product managers, learning designers, researchers, & designers) to ensure your roadmap is well understood & executed on time.
    • Advise on assessment- & analytics-related projects & initiatives led by other content & platform product managers
    • Collaborate with Marketing to communicate upcoming releases & their value to educators & to customer-facing staff.
    • Act as a subject-matter expert & responsive collaborator on assessment- & analytics-related initiatives.

Why youre a great fit:

  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum, content strategy, or product management at an educational publishing or technology company (or equivalent experience)
  • Required skills:
    • Strategic thinking & the ability to prioritize competing ideas
    • Subject matter expertise in K-12 assessment & analytics, including familiarity with balanced assessment systems
    • Strong written & verbal communication skills
    • Comfort interpreting & acting on qualitative & quantitative data.
    • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Required education: Bachelors in Education or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
  • Preferences:
    • Experience working with Pendo, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), Tableau, & Heap
    • Familiarity with content authoring tools or interoperability standards such as QTI
    • Experience collaborating with data scientists to design AI-driven content or product features
    • Ability to work across subject areas & adapt assessment strategies to the needs of different disciplines.

Base Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options & benefits. This compensation range may be adjusted based on actual experience.
