Tripadvisor is hiring a Sales Manager for our Cruise Critic web site. Cruise Critic is the worlds largest cruise reviews & information site, offering a comprehensive resource for cruise travellers which covers audiences from first-time cruisers to avid cruise enthusiasts. Cruise Critic features more than 350,000 cruise reviews & hosts the world's largest online cruise community. Cruise Critic was the first consumer cruise site on the Internet, launched in October 1995 by The Independent Traveler, now a subsidiary of TripAdvisor

We are seeking a smart & energetic online advertising Sales Manager. This position will quickly help grow the company's business in both display & CPC. The successful candidate must be assertive, creative, resourceful, & enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The position requires outstanding sales, leadership, communication, & organizational skills. The candidate should possess a gift for developing & maintaining relationships, & an exceptional understanding of digital media.

The successful candidate will be based in  and will be responsible for hitting monthly, quarterly, & annual sales targets. Travel may be required up to 20%.  This position reports to the Head of Sales for Cruise Critic, based in London, UK.

What You'll do:

  • A customer-oriented person with a strong commercial mind-set & influencing skills, capable of convincing & engaging people.
  • A results oriented consultative seller that can help identify & solve challenges with our largest clients
  •  A dynamic person, used to working independently in fast-paced environments & with great organizational skills.
  • A high-performing professional with demonstrated business development experience in building & developing deep & wide relationships with clients
  • A self-starter, results-oriented person who loves to reach & exceed targets.
  • Help develop, test & then champion new products in market
  • Work cross-departmentally to optimize the UK site
  • Work successfully & energetically on the phone, in groups, as well as with in person client meetings
  • Bundle different types of advertising products to create a successful portfolio for your advertisers (e.g. CPM media, CPC media, sponsorships, text links, etc.)
  • Extensive relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience selling online advertising with responsibility for an annual quota of at least $1 million
  • Recent & successful track record of sales to the travel industry is a plus
  • Broad expertise & unique knowledge of the travel industry, with a heavy focus on cruise
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively & sell strategically
  • Track record of developing long-term relationships with (and commitments from) clients & agencies
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent online, written & verbal communications skills
  • Teamwork skills essential; sense of humour required; overdeveloped sales egos must be checked
