As a Staff Engineer, you will be working on designing, architecting, & implementing highly scalable, distributed, & fault-tolerant backend systems. You will champion integrating observability, scalability, & reliability at every stage of the SDLC. You will work with the team to generate ideas on ways we can evolve our services to meet the needs of the business. You will be part of the Investigation team in our cybersecurity business unit & will be working on building both data processing pipelines & APIs/queries layer to search/aggregate large amounts of data.

 Who You Are:

• You're a people leader with the technical chops to drive work forward, mentor those around you, & raise the talent bar for the team. Staff/Lead has implications of leadership & we need that from the start.
• You have experience in backend development with Scala, Java, Golang, or Python. Scala or Java preferred 
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases. We also use DynamoDB & others.
• Kafka or would be great
• Competency with modern CI/CD tooling like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible & Jenkins
• A desire to see features through from development to deployment in production environments
• You believe in small & frequent product releases & deployments.
• Experience in an on-call rotation and the mindset that you & your team are responsible for the product support for the products you build & deploy.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Evaluate requirements, define technical specifications, review design & communicate to stakeholders.
• Lead, organize, & participate in cross-team discussions on system design & architecture
• Participate in interviewing, onboarding, & mentoring junior engineers
• Write scalable systems to store/index large amounts of data & performant queries/aggregations on that data
• Participate in an on-call rotation to manage incidents & support the services you have developed
• Drive root cause identification & issue resolution with the various data infrastructure teams.
