THE ROLE: Senior Accountant

Were looking for

An experienced Senior Accountant who can think critically, roll up their sleeves & is excited to build & revamp processes. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring monthly financial entries are complete, accurate, & in compliance with GAAP. We are seeking an inquisitive, self-directed, organized, & energetic accounting professional to join our Finance team!

What Youll Do:

• Own the monthly close process with specific areas of focus including Revenue Recognition, Inventory, Fulfillment, Accounts Receivable & detailed account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare journal entries, analysis & reconciliations of P&L & Balance Sheet accounts
• Perform variance analysis of actual vs budget/forecast by department & investigate unusual variances
• Oversee collection efforts & partner with merchandising & marketing teams to establish consistent information flow
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase accuracy, timeliness, & efficiency of month end close
• Interact cross functionally with key business leaders to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely & accurate monthly reporting
• Contribute to department & company on special projects specifically through automation & efficiency efforts & technology implementations

• 4+ years experience performing accounting for a mid-sized company. Retail/ecommerce a plus!
• Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting & reporting. PeopleSoft & Planful experience a plus.
• Strong analytical skills. Advanced Excel preferred.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams & departments to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, & results
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• CPA and/or MSA a plus
