Manager, Strategic Finance

The Manager, Strategic Finance will provide insights to Sumo Logics leadership based on monitoring trends & developments in the industry, the economy, & capital markets. Reporting to the VP FP&A, this individual will be responsible for conducting research & analysis of both internal & external financial, business, & technology trends, including long term financial modeling. Candidates will have outstanding partnership & communication skills, be able to handle multiple priorities, as well as the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes in a fast-growing organization.

 Responsibilities

• Maintaining a detailed financial model, valuation model, & other relevant industry & market models
• Structure content for quarterly executive reviews of key projects, developing a consistent set of KPIs
• Manage creation of internal reporting documents including board & other management presentations
•  Support strategic short & long-term business decisions through financial modeling & analysis of investment opportunities
• Tracking & reporting on financial performance & key developments of ecosystem participants, based on press reports, conference calls, investor presentations, equity research reports, & SEC filings
•  Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
• Interacting with business unit leaders & several functional groups, including Communications, Marketing, Legal, & Finance
• Ad hoc reporting requests from the Leadership team

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience in a senior financial or strategic role in a public, technology based, growth business. Prior experience in investment banking is a strong preference.
• Self-starter with strong financial, business modeling & analysis skills; sound business judgment
• Ability to work independently across multiple groups in a rapidly changing environment
• Solid project management capabilities; able to work under deadlines to produce key deliverables
• Strong research & analysis skills, including financial modeling & valuation
• Ability to provide sound business judgment, strategic thinking, & broad financial & business perspective across the organization
• Ability to sort through complex issues, translate & communicate them in a clear, concise manner & develop appropriate solutions in a timely & responsive manner
• Great teammate who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment, often on multiple projects across different functional groups
• Experience with Adaptive, Salesforce & NetSuite preferred

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $160,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but arent limited to) role level, skills & competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, & experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, & equity awards.
