The Role
The BuzzFeed Fellowship is a year-long program for aspiring & hungry writers eager to hone their skills, & to learn by doing. The program is a crash course in creating editorial content that consistently captures readers attention, pushes the cultural conversation forward, & reaches a massive audience.
Fellows will work with & learn from members of the BuzzFeed team some of the smartest, weirdest, most creative, & most viral creators out there. This is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in digital media. You wont be running errands for senior staff, or transcribing someone elses interviews, you will be pitching ideas, taking assignments, brainstorming, collaborating, & writing dozens of stories that will be published to BuzzFeed.com & promoted across our social channels.
As an SEO Editorial Fellow, youll be responsible for writing & optimizing evergreen & timely content that drives search traffic. Youll learn the ins & outs of SEO best practices, data-driven content strategy, & how to create articles that people and Google love. Youll embed with the SEO team & collaborate closely with editors, writers, & strategists across BuzzFeed Media.
The Fellowship is fun & inspiring, but also fast-paced & challenging.
This is a paid position $20/hour. The Fellowship allows candidates to work fully remote in select locations. If youre local to NY or LA, there will also be opportunities to work alongside us in our Flatiron & Hollywood offices.
