As a SWE-2 on the Core Platform team, you will be working on designing, architecting, & implementing highly scalable, distributed, & fault-tolerant backend systems that handle user onboarding, content management, entities, Terraform/OpenAPI access, auditing, health tracking, & more. You will be part of our continuous intelligence platform team & will be working on building systems & frameworks that are used by other teams in the company as well as features used by our end customers.
What you will do:
- Write robust & re-usable code
- Own a small set of microservices, analyze & improve the efficiency, scalability, reliability, & cost for the same
- Work as a member of a cross-geo team, helping the team respond quickly and effectively to business needs
- Act as a primary on-call for owned services, responding to service degradations promptly
- Work remotely with occasional team meetups
What you will have:
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of industry experience (not an entry level AND not senior level)
- Object-oriented experience in Java, Scala, Golang, or C++.
- Understanding the performance characteristics of commonly used data structures (maps, lists, trees, etc).
- Desire to learn Scala, an up-and-coming JVM language
- (Nice-to-have) Experience in big data / 24x7 commercial service / planet scale product development.
- (Nice-to-have) Experience in agile software development (test-driven development, iterative & incremental development).
- (Nice-to-have) Experience using Sumo Logic products or other observability products for reliability & security.
- (Nice-to-have) Experience in multi-threaded programming & distributed systems (desirable).

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $148,000 + full benefits. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but arent limited to) role level, skills & competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, & experience.
