The role

The Food Systems Alliance at HelloFresh is focused on building & scaling global systems that support the entire food journey, from assortment & ingredient development to supply chain management technology. This includes key domains such as master data management, strategic procurement, applied science (covering areas like menu planning, personalization, forecasting, & operations research), supplier reliability, & inventory planning. With end-to-end ownership of critical supply chain functions, the Alliance enables efficient, consistent, & innovative solutions. This integrated approach supports faster software development, enhanced collaboration, & the delivery of scalable systems across global markets.

What youll do

• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team of 6-10 members, utilizing diverse technologies & frameworks
• Take ownership of the end-to-end process, including architecture, design, development, deployment, & operations of data pipelines, applying DevOps practices, pair programming, & other cutting-edge methodologies
• Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product & architecture, serving as an ambassador for software solutions & providing support & mentorship to colleagues
• Work with state-of-the-art technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, Kubernetes, Istio, & more

What youll bring

• Strong backend development skills in a microservices architecture, with proficiency in Golang
• Hands-on knowledge of containerization & orchestration tools, particularly Docker & Kubernetes & a solid understanding of CI/CD principles, with practical exposure to modern deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with software design & testing methodologies such as TDD, BDD, DDD, & distributed system patterns
• Well-versed in the full development lifecyclefrom writing unit & integration tests to profiling, tuning, & deploying distributed applications
• Proficiency in working with both relational & NoSQL databases & experience with event-driven systems 
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring & sharing knowledge, staying current with industry trends & best practices
