About the job

You will manage & grow an engineering team focused on delivering mission critical distributed systems, focused on Identity & Access Management (IAM). You will play a key role in building & defining team culture & strategy for our global IAM organization. Twilio's Identity & Access Management (IAM) Platform, helps our customers connect to & use the Twilio products that make their businesses successful. Our platform has global reach & operates at cloud scale. Our challenge is to enable our customers, & to protect their data, while providing mission critical IAM features on the Twilio platform.

Responsibilities

In this role, youll:

  • Manage & lead a cross-functional team focused on Identity & Access features.
  • Lead your teams through thoughtful design, development, testing, code reviews, & operations.
  • Hire, manage & mentor front-end & back-end software engineers to foster their career growth.
  • Drive quality, predictability, & velocity on your teams with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define roadmaps & priorities.
  • Live by & champion our cultural values that define the "Twilio Magic".

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field is a minimum requirement.
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience 
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience
  • Experience with owning & operating high-scale, high-availability cloud systems

Desired:

  • Experience with IAM protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SCIM
  • Experience with security fundamentals like encryption, message signing & verification
  • Experience with JWTs

Location

This role will be remote in the United States but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

We prioritize connection & opportunities to build relationships with our customers & each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, & Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $164,480 - $205,600.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $174,160 - $217,700.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilios equity plan & corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, & geographic location within the state.
