Game Product Managers at Riot lead passionate teams to create & evolve products & experiences for our players. We seek to deeply understand our products audience & drive strategy to create value for players & for Riot. We help concept, build, & influence projects at all stages of production.
As a Principal Game Product Manager on an unannounced R&D project, you will be the product lead for the games metagame systems & monetization content. You will lead a cross-functional team that is responsible for monetization, progression, identity, & social systems. You will be responsible for defining strategic plans; working cross functionally to translate those plans into clear direction, & then operationalizing development to deliver outcomes. You will report to the Game Director of the game.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of player needs & behaviors & use it to drive the vision, strategy, & roadmap for metagame systems in order to achieve player, product, & business impact
- Work with project leaders to define & set the direction for player-focused content & monetization, solving complex monetization problems leveraging a wide variety of product & design capabilities
- Develop a robust strategy for supporting ongoing player retention & engagement thats realized through resonant progression & identity systems
- Contribute to the development of the games live operations strategy. Ensure that your teams work streams are tightly aligned with the games plans for sustainable & best-in-class live operations
- Maintain deep audience & player empathy to inform your strategic understanding opportunity spaces
- Operationalize your impact by ensuring your team's efforts & capabilities support the holistic product strategy, working closely with production
- Partner tightly with central & game-team insights, research & analytics to ensure development in your area is informed hypothesis driven, supported by a wide range of player signals, & can be effectively validated & measured to inform learning & iteration
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience, of which 4+ is in a Product Management or Strategy role on a game team or equivalent
- Ability to solve complex & ambiguous problems using first-principles strategic thinking, generating frameworks to enable rapid & effective decision making
- Meaningful familiarity with several of the following crafts: Revenue Strategy / Monetization Design, LiveOps / Live Service, Player Growth & Lifecycle Management, Analytics, & Research
- Experience conceptualizing, designing, & shipping metagame systems, monetization content, & distribution mechanisms within the games industry
- Meaningful relationship with & affinity for PVP Shooters
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience leading & managing cross-functional teams with excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, collaboration & stakeholder management
- Experience working on a AAA game with global reach through development and, launch
- Experience working on a live service game with significant live operations
- Experience working on progression systems that are deeply integrated into the core gameplay loop
