We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will dedicate approximately 60% of your time to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) responsibilities, ensuring the availability, performance, & reliability of our critical services. The remaining 40% of your time will focus on DevOps practices, enabling automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, & infrastructure management. This dual role is designed for a highly skilled engineer who can balance the operational demands of SRE with the development & deployment efficiencies driven by DevOps.

ROLE

Site Reliability Engineering (60%)

  • System Design & Architecture: Collaborate with software engineers to design scalable, fault-tolerant systems & services. Help smoothly integrate AI-solutions into existing architectures, ensuring that AI models, frameworks, & tools work efficiently within a broader system without causing disruptions.
  • Service Monitoring & Incident Management: Proactively monitor service health, availability, & performance using monitoring tools like Metabase, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Establish SLAs, SLOs, & SLIs for key services & ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Respond to & troubleshoot production issues, ensuring quick resolution & minimal downtime.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to ensure continuous learning & improvement.
  • Capacity Planning & Scaling: Perform capacity planning & scaling activities to ensure system resilience during traffic spikes or unexpected failures.
  • Automation & Reliability Enhancements: Automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency (e.g., provisioning, monitoring, & alerting).
  • Implement self-healing mechanisms to reduce manual intervention.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, & work with teams to optimize applications & infrastructure.
  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Design & implement disaster recovery plans & high availability strategies.
  • Test failover mechanisms & backups regularly.
  • Security & Compliance: Collaborate with our security team to ensure infrastructure adheres to best practices & compliance requirements.
  • Implement & manage security monitoring, patching, & auditing for critical services.

DevOps (40%)

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, & enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Ensure smooth & efficient deployment processes, enabling fast & reliable delivery of code changes to production.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage & automate infrastructure provisioning & configuration using tools like Terraform.
  • Work on containerization solutions using Docker & orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with development teams to ensure best practices in deployment & release processes.
  • Champion DevOps culture by mentoring & guiding other engineers in the use of tools & best practices.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering roles.
  • Proven experience managing high-availability, mission-critical systems.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with containers & orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in monitoring, logging, & alerting tools (e.g., Metabase, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc).
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Go, Bash, etc.).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, & distributed systems.
  • Driven by passion & curiosity, you embrace AI to up-level your team's productivity & impact, creating delight, delivering exceptional quality, & embracing the extraordinary in everything you do.

Tools & Platforms:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) & CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills & ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Proactive, self-driven, & able to handle high-pressure environments.

SALARY INFO

Our starting salaries for this role range from $160,000 - $185,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, & company stock options.

For team members outside of the US we employ & pay through an Employer of Record (EOR). We take a location-based pay approach & compensation for this role is dependent on several factors such as location, work experience, job-related skills, business needs, & market demands.
