Similarweb is a data company, & the DaaS team is the enabler of that. As a backend engineer, you will be part of paving the way for Similarweb to make the petabyte-scale data accessible to all of our clients via multiple platforms using top-notch big data tools.

So, what will you be doing all day?

Your role as part of the Backend Engineer means your daily responsibilities may include:

1. Building & maintaining our core DaaS offerings including realtime APIs, big data exporting APIs & data feeds.
2. Take a major part in designing & implementing complex high scale systems using large variety of technologies
3. Be part of a team with smart & motivated engineers, collaborate on planning, development & maintenance of our products.
4. Implement solutions in AWS cloud environment, we especially like serverless services. 

This is the perfect job for someone who:

• Holds a BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• You love building robust, fault-tolerant, & scalable systems & products
• You are a go-getter & a team player with a sense of ownership. 
• Has at least 4+ years of server-side software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (C#, Go, Python, etc.)
• Experience building large-scale web APIs: advantage for working with Microservices architecture, AWS, & databases (DynamoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Firebolt)
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies: A familiarity with Spark, Databricks, & Airflow is a big advantage.
• Worked in a cloud environment such as AWS or GCP, & is familiar with its different services.
