About the job

This position is needed to craft & deliver models as well as contribute to the product vision, strategy, & roadmap for Twilios AI/ML messaging products & services. 

Twilio is looking for a Senior Applied Data Scientist to join the Data Science & Growth product team of our Messaging business unit. You will understand the needs of our customers & build products & algorithms that solve that need at a global scale. Working side by side with other applied data scientists, product managers & engineering counterparts, you will collaborate to craft & deliver on the vision, strategy, & roadmap for our AI/ML messaging products at Twilio.

Responsibilities

In this role, youll:

• Be the voice of the customer in every conversation & decision, & ensure we build world class products that our customers love & value.
• Own the models, product strategy, roadmap, & release cadence for a major part of Twilios AI/ML products. 
• Support the engineering team in delivering quality features efficiently, & your global go-to-market team in selling them. 
• Get your hands dirty, align executives, convince peers, & coordinate dependencies to get-it-done.
• Seek out unique points of view to deliver products that reflect the global population & make communication more inclusive for all.

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years of working as a Data Scientist, ideally focused on experience building customer-facing cloud products for businesses or developers.
• Experience owning & deploying models from conception to production, as well as managing how & where these models fit into a broader suite of product offerings. 
• Experience working in an agile/SCRUM development process with globally-distributed teams & customers, occasionally working non-standard hours.
• Advanced level proficiency with with SQL, Python & Statistics.
• Ability to speak & write in English fluently.

Desired:

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
• Experience with mathematical optimization.
• Experience managing products/services in the identity verification, authentication, fraud, messaging, or telecom spaces, & building reporting, insights, BI, or analytics features.
• Experience working with GTM & direct sales teams, marketing, & defining pricing/packaging.

Location

This role will be based from Estonia on a remote basis. 

Travel
