As a Software Engineer, youll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness & cross-team objectives. Youll drive important features & provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.

As a Staff Software Engineer focused on client & server performance on an unreleased product, you will work to ensure that we hit our runtime performance goals throughout the development & release of the game. This will include profiling & optimizing client & server code, as well as proposing & executing on longer term performance projects. In addition to performance improvements, you will be responsible for delivering technical solutions that improve gameplay integrity & empower content creators to explore gameplay concepts quickly & confidently under realistic conditions. 

Responsibilities:

• Plan & implement major projects to improve the runtime performance of the game
• Work with gameplay designers & engineers to identify & develop performant solutions that satisfy their needs
• Regularly profile & optimize existing gameplay systems
• Contribute to the design & implementation of technical solutions related to simulation & networking systems
• Mentor & coach other engineers on the project

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of gameplay development experience in a C-style game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc)
• Fluency in C++
• Experience profiling with sampling & instrumented profilers
• Experience optimizing performance on a game title
• BS in Computer Science, or proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
• Experience collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines

Desired Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience working on a networked game
• Experience managing game performance across multiple teams
• Professional multithreaded development experience
• Experience with UE4 and/or UE5
• Experience developing & shipping a AAA title
• Experience with agile development
