YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with expertise in Python, React, & AWS services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud architecture & serverless computing, working within secure government environments.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design & develop scalable applications using Python & React
• Implement & maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Create & maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda
• Design & implement message-based architectures using SQS & SNS
• Develop & maintain RESTful APIs using API Gateway
• Ensure all development follows security best practices & compliance requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in Python & React
• Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly:
• Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform)
• Lambda functions & serverless architecture
• SQS & SNS implementation
• API Gateway configuration & management
• Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
• Ability to obtain & maintain security clearance
• Strong understanding of security best practices & compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Previous experience with government projects
• Experience with automated testing & TDD

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections & collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

This range is specific to Chicago & multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience & training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
