About the role: What's in the Box

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Food Safety & Quality to lead our comprehensive food safety & quality assurance programs. This senior position will oversee all aspects of food safety, quality control, regulatory compliance, & risk management in our meal kit operations across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food manufacturing, strong leadership capabilities, & deep expertise in food safety regulations & quality management systems.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of elevating & embedding food safety & quality culture & processes throughout a complex organization with multiple locations across Europe & Australia/New Zealand.

Joining our Procurement & FSQA team based at our Head Office in Berlin, with regular travel to our facilities across Europe. You will report to the SVP Supply Chain Procurement & FSQA.

What youll do: The Recipe

• Lead cross-functional, international teams to ensure integration of quality & safety standards throughout all operations.
• Develop & implement comprehensive food safety & quality strategies aligned with company objectives, including onboarding new suppliers & ingredients.
• Ensure full compliance with relevant food safety regulations & standards, including inspections, audits, & certifications.
• Build, lead, & mentor a high-performing food safety & quality team.
• Champion implementation of new technologies & digital solutions for quality management, as well as contribute to global platform harmonization across the entire supply chain. 
• Lead process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
• Leverage data (from audit/customer complaints/root cause analysis) to develop & implement sustainable corrective/preventative actions.
• Keep up to date with new legislation & industry practices & incorporate them into our systems & processes as required, as well as actively lobbying regulators for positive change.

What youll bring: The Ingredients

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related technical field
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in food safety & quality roles within food manufacturing
• At least 5 years of senior management experience leading large, diverse teams across geographies. 
• Deep knowledge of relevant food safety regulations
• Proven track record of building & leading high-performance teams
• Strong understanding of food microbiology, chemistry, & processing technologies, with knowledge of laboratory operations & analytical testing methods
• Strong project management & change management capabilities
• Ability to influence & collaborate across functions & with external partners
• Strategic thinking with strong business acumen
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
