As a member of the Tax team, you will report directly to the International Tax Director. Our Tax team is a high performing tight knit department that manages both financial reporting & compliance as it relates to all matters of tax across multiple countries, it also has a seat at the table in driving optimal tax structures & planning & audit defense.
What Youll Do:
As an International Tax Manager, youll be actively engaged in all aspects of international tax provision, planning, research, & compliance to support our operations. You will play a key role in preparing the companys global tax positions related to GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC etc. & assist with the preparation of the international tax provisions, including tax audit support.
The US International Tax Manager will team with the International Tax Director to continue delivering on DigitalOceans global tax strategy & legal structure efficiency efforts. You will work directly with team members from treasury, legal, finance, accounting, & other tax groups. Specifically, the US International Tax Manager will have the opportunity to work across the direct tax spectrum including compliance, planning, transfer pricing, audit defense & reporting under ASC 740. International audit defense, along with the potential for Advanced Pricing Agreements, will be integral to the role.

Required qualifications:
- Prepare the US International tax aspects of quarterly & annual US GAAP Income Tax Provision, including Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, & FIN 48
- Collaborate with the US income tax compliance team to prepare & review all required US International tax forms for foreign entities, including but not limited to Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992, & 8993
- Support the US international tax aspects of Federal & State tax audits
- Assist with special projects as assigned by leadership, including but not limited to forecasting, mergers & acquisitions, internal reorganizations, tax modeling, & process improvements
- Research & analyze impact of enacted & potential law changes & prepare memos to support tax positions
- Ensure timely delivery of completed projects & keep appropriate documentation, which is essential to the operations of the tax groups at DigitalOcean
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting or Law
- At least 4-7 years of experience in US international tax, with core understanding of income tax provision & accounting requirements under US GAAP (ASC 740 & related guidance)
- Big 4 Accounting or Law Firm experience is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, promote innovation & continuous learning
- Strong Excel skills, experience with online team communication tools (Slack/Teams), intellectual curiosity, & outcome accountability
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven ability to collaborate, communicate, & manage complexity in simultaneous projects
- Knowledge of tax accounting software & technology is helpful

- We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $103,008 - $128,760 based on market data, relevant years of experience, & skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company & individual performance.
