Are passionate about design from ideation to implementation

• You know what tools to use & when in order to build solutions that solve real user problems - whether that means conducting quantitative or qualitative user research, identifying user needs, mapping user flows, iteratively creating wireframes, testing assumptions through clickable prototypes, or delivering high fidelity mock-ups with detailed UI & visual design specifications to Product & Engineering teams, you love every minute of it.

• You are consistently an advocate for our users, pushing us all to produce delightful, intuitive & functional software while inspiring the team with the latest design tools & techniques.

Thrive in collaborative environments

• You'll be working with developers, product managers, designers, customer success & other stakeholders to bring your ideas to life & validate your design decisions.

• You know who you should talk to keep yourself moving & whether or not that means an async chat in Slack or a collaborative working session on Zoom

Are a strong communicator who checks their ego at the door

• You're confident & articulate in communicating your ideas to stakeholders while being open to feedback. You understand how to tell stories using both words & visuals, & strategize the best ways to drive alignment.

• Prototypes are the primary canvas for communicating your ideas

Have industry experience with the tools of the trade

• You have experience designing for established SaaS (or web-based software) products & can run projects independently end to end.

• You're not expected to be a developer, but you know enough about HTML, JavaScript, & CSS to efficiently work with your code writing colleagues to bring your designs to life. You have experience using Figma, InVision, or Adobe XD & understand how to use these tools to organize your ideas, iterate on your designs, & produce extensible design systems.

• We're not too fussy about years of experience or how many degrees you have, but to have all of the above covered you probably have 5+ years of professional experience. You will be helping to lead the design discipline at Devpost for two products that directly impact the global software development community & that excites you.

Remote work. Our main hubs are in New York & Ontario, & most of our Product, Design, & Engineering Teams are located in EST & PST. Ideally, this role would be located in these timezones.
