HHi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Configuration Analyst to join our Configuration Production team.
About the role
You will support incoming projects & work designed to improve the consistency, accuracy, & efficiency of system configuration. Through collaboration with stakeholders in the organization & gaining an understanding of Oscar's platform capabilities, you will ensure information is loaded efficiently, all while furthering the mission of Oscar: making healthcare more affordable for all.
You will report into Configurations Team Lead. You will be management level: Contributor - 2
Work Location:
If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office ( in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.
You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change.
Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, & Washington is: $60,000 - $78,750 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $54,000 - $70,875 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program & annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Understanding of designs, builds, & configuration workflows & utilize this knowledge to develop insights into opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Understand aggregated configuration data to identify updates required & to measure the impact of any changes on internal operations & existing configuration
- Load configuration data into the core system accurately & in a timely manner
- Leverage internal tools & technical processes, in particular database querying & benefit configuration concepts.
- Build SQL queries & translate technical analyses into easily digestible communications to a nontechnical audience
- Perform detailed oriented work with a high level of accuracy & adherence to all QA/QC protocols
- Identify & report on any data/data infrastructure gaps, deficiencies, or irregularities
- Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1+ years of working healthcare analytics or claims coding & pricing
- 1+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and/or comparable programs within the Google Docs Editors suite (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides).
- 1+ years of experience manipulating & analyzing large data sets using excel or a similar database language to solve business problems
- 6 months+ working experience with SQL and/or similar database management tooling
Bonus Points
- A bachelor's degree or 4 years commensurate experience
- Working knowledge of medical coding concepts (e.g., CPT, HCPCs & ICD-10 coding)

Pay Transparency:
Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
