YOUR ROLE:

Rapp is seeking an Art Director for our agency. In this mid-level position, you must provide strong conceptual thinking, highly developed design skills & expertise in a wide range of design programs.  You must push the boundaries of creative excellence all while ensuring the delivery of required results. The appropriate candidate must also have the ability to work with members of the creative department as well as team members from other core departments in order to achieve client satisfaction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute creative concepts that are on strategy across all direct response media (email, direct mail, print, display, social, digital, TV, radio) with minimal supervision.
  • Generate breakthrough ideas & constantly strive for new, better, more innovative solutions.
  • Must be able to handle more multiple projects, as well as several assignments at a time.
  • Demonstrates high-level knowledge of typography & graphic design.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Adapt brands to both digital & direct response environments.
  • Show understanding of clients marketing needs & consumer attitudes.
  • Manage workflow efficiently & take responsibility for timing & delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Develop great work within guidelines & budget of the assignment.
  • Work collaboratively with creative partners, members of creative & core departments.
  • Present work coherently & persuasively; express ideas in a form that clients can buy.
  • Show knowledge of direct marketing print production process.
  • Review & sign-off on mechanical proofs on their assignments.
  • Collaborate with Production, Art Buying & Studio.
  • Stay current with changes in technology & demonstrate technical competence.

SUCCESS CRITERA:

  • Execution excellence.
  • Clear & articulate team communication & relationship building.
  • Demonstrates an informed & thoughtful POV.
  • Proactively tracks trends in business & marketplace relevant to Client business.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3+ years experience.
  • Must have digital experience, preferably with CRM & retail or financial experience.
  • Must have a strong portfolio primarily of produced work.
  • Can present ideas in sketch form.
  • Must demonstrate experience/knowledge in Email, Direct Mail, Print, interactive, display, & social.
  • Experience working in HTML-based media.
  • Good sense of animation & layout.
  • Knowledge & experience using Keynote & PowerPoint.
  • Must possess good communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Must be an expert in Adobe Creative Suite (PS, IND, AI, PDF).
  • Must be proficient in prototyping software such as Adobe XD or Figma(preferred).

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections & collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

This range is specific to Detroit & multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience & training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
