The Role

For our ambitious, fast growing team in Moss we are looking for an OpEx Engineer for a one year Maternity Cover. Working in the Operational Excellence team you take a leading role in improving our operations.

As an Operational Excellence Engineer you are responsible for identifying improvements within Production (end to end). You have a key role in bringing our current operations to another level (lower cost, better productivity & quality) & support the implementation of the operational culture & roadmap. 

Therefore, you constantly & proactively highlight the loss of productivity, cost, quality, or risk to safety & you propose solutions based on thorough analysis of cause & effect. You help the teams conducting root cause analysis when reoccurring issues, & you help them implement the long term solutions. You have a key role in bringing our current operations to another level (lower cost, better productivity & quality) & support the implementation of the operational excellence culture & roadmap. 

You are part of a bigger team that regroups the OpEx engineer from 3 markets (so called conventional cluster), together we aim to standardize & harmonize the processes.

What youll do

  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Continuously evaluate & improve operational systems & processes to boost efficiency, quality, & reduce waste & costs.

  • Lean & Problem-Solving Tools: Implement lean methodologies & structured problem-solving tools like DMAIC, 5 Whys, & Cause & Effect diagrams.

  • Project Leadership: Identify, lead, & execute improvement projects aligned with business strategies, ensuring successful rollout & adoption.

  • Collaboration & Change Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, acting as a change agent to drive a culture of operational excellence & standardization.

  • Standardization & Visual Management: Develop & implement standard work procedures, visual factory tools, & error-proofing mechanisms to support process harmonization across the cluster.

You have

  • 3+ years of experience in production or logistics, with a strong focus on high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record in production optimization, continuous improvement, & launching new processes.
  • Strong analytical & hands-on problem-solving skills; confident in coaching & implementing Lean/Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt is a plus).
  • Solid knowledge of SOPs, lean principles (e.g., Toyota Production System), & process adherence.
  • Effective leadership & influencing skills, capable of engaging all levels from shop floor to senior management.
  • Fluent in English; Norwegian language skills are a plus.
