Senior Sanitation Manager 

Factor_ a brand of HelloFresh is seeking a Senior Sanitation Manager.  The Sr Sanitation Manager will work to continually improve the sanitation processes, to ensure the processes are sound across Factor, to meet operational goals & objectives, & to ensure adherence to safety & GMP regulations. The Sr Sanitation Manager coordinates activities & provides coaching & guidance to sanitation managers at each DC.  The Sr Sanitation Manager works alongside the team, stepping in as needed to ensure maximum productivity.  The Sr Sanitation Manager will be responsible for the cleaning process at our RTE Meal Kit facilities.

You will 

  • Continually improve the sanitation process for Factor 75
  • Responsible for monitoring performance & reporting out sanitation KPIs
  • Ensure compliance in all facets of FDA, SQF, CCOF, Gluten & regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist all Factor locations with any Sanitation needs.
  • Responsible for directing & supervising a group of employees involved in inspection & sanitation procedures. 
  • Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet sanitation control standards, make suggestions regarding procedures, standards, & equipment to facilitate work & maintain product safety.
  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
  • Responsible for compilation & maintenance of sanitation reports & records.
  • Investigate & determine the cause of faulty work & consult & advise other departments as to corrective measures.
  • Provide all employees with necessary tools, proper training, & corrective direction.
  • Interact with site leadership to ensure food safety of product & DC.
  • Maintain discipline, morale, & harmonious relations among subordinates.
  • Investigate & adjust personnel problems within the area of responsibility.
  • Effectively recommend as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments & terminations.
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Understand & enforce requirements of SQF Quality Code & ensure that all staff is aware of their responsibilities / accountability as it relates to the SQF Quality Code

Manager Responsibility

This position provides guidance to employees by coordinating work & resolving problems.  The Sanitation managers performance is evaluated by their leadership of the sanitation employees, productivity & prioritization of their designated team, quality/quantity of information reported each shift, & ability to guide employee performance on the team.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a manufacturing & assembly environment & is regularly exposed to cool and/or cold temperatures (10 - 40). The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts & vibration. The noise level in the work environment & job sites can be loud. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, reach & lift for a minimum of 10 to 12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or tools. The employee is required to talk or hear with or without reasonable accommodation. 

The employee must regularly lift & move up to 25 pounds, & occasionally lift & move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision & peripheral vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days & hours of work are varied according to shift & production schedule. The employee is expected to work no less than the designated 40 hour work week. Significant weekend work depending on production schedules.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area & overnight travel may be expected.

At a minimum, you have...

  • Minimum of 5yrs of sanitation management experience required.
    • Preferred multi-site experience.
  • Preferred minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing environment.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work-related experience
  • Intermediate computer skills requirement data analysis/creation, Microsoft office & google equivalent
  • Preferred food safety certifications SQF, BRC, HACCP is a plus
