About the role:

The Senior Analyst, Regulatory is a contributor & owner of mission-critical workflows to maintain & operate the Independent Dispute Resolution process. In assigned jurisdictions, the Senior Analyst, Regulatory Affairs will intake disputes from providers, participate in negotiation with team support, & prepare arbitration briefing where needed, all while maintaining detailed documentation for tracking purposes. The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Affairs supports the Regulatory Affairs function in serving as an enterprise wide resource on public policy & IDR trends.

You will report into the Director, Regulatory Affairs.

Work Location: This position is based in our Tempe, AZ office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings & events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $69,120 - $90,720 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter expert on assigned state & federal policy for provider dispute & IDR legislative matters, while applying newly proposed laws & regulations to processes in assigned jurisdictions.
  • Support sustainable processes which simplify our growing team's outputs while ensuring high quality deliverables.
  • Support the wider team & Regulatory Affairs Counsel with preparing concise, user-friendly briefing summaries & analyses based on case needs
  • Manage projects with notable complexity with department possible effects, developing action plans & managing from start to completion.
  • Provide IDR expertise to designated teams & work with internal legal counsel.
  • Be the primary contact for provider negotiations relating to IDR.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned by Director, Regulatory Operations.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the humanities, legal studies, political science, public policy, public administration, public health or other relevant field or a combination of education & experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with project management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience communicating with & presenting information to all partners.
  • 2+ years of experience distilling complex issues into clear action items, for audiences at varying levels of seniority.
  • 2+ years of experience using Westlaw, legislative tracking software, & Google Workspace.

Bonus points:

  • Experience working with Independent Dispute Resolution is a huge plus
  • Experience working in personal injury law firms or as a paralegal
  • Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act & the No Surprises Act
  • Experience with the individual and/or group markets.
  • Experience working with attorneys & team members.
