Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single persons daily commute to reducing humanitys collective environmental footprint weve got huge goals. 

As a Strategic Business Development Principal, youll be a significant contributor to building our business in the DACH region. You will secure engagement with buyers & operators of transportation - local authorities, private operators, private corporations - & successfully make the case for how Vias broad technology stack could work in their particular context & meet their specific challenges. You will be responsible for the full business development cycle, from opportunity identification to contracting. Through this process youll become an expert on the Via platform, including Remixs transit planning & scheduling platform, & will partner cross-functionally with teams across the business to drive product & operational improvements.

Note that this role is also internally referred to as Partnerships Principal.

What You'll Do

  • Work proactively to identify new & prospective partners in your territory: youll build meaningful & durable revenue-generating relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of verticals, including various government agencies. Youll lead execution & strategy for full-cycle Sales efforts across your territory, working to make transit better for your community & your regions communities. This is a quota-carrying role.
  • Strategically navigate your markets unique buying landscape; youll research, roadmap, & use your strong analytical skills to build compelling, data-driven business cases for our platform.
  • Act as a thought partner to prospective clients; youll educate, consult, & work strategically to develop regional transit plans & find funding mechanisms within your market. 
  • Champion our mission & technology, acting as the face of Via in your region by leading local marketing campaigns, speaking at conferences, & providing consistent thought leadership in the mobility space.
  • Establish revenue-generating partnerships with a diverse group of prospective clients, from elected officials to private-sector business leaders, & demonstrate our value proposition across a range of verticals.
  • Lead category & industry mapping for your region to understand relevant market, product, & pricing trends, & turning key insights into actionable recommendations for growth strategy.

Who You Are:

  • Fluency in German & English
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in client-facing roles (e.g., strategy consulting, key account management, strategic partnerships, sales); experience selling or interacting with the public sector is a plus
  • Expertise in prospecting, cross-selling, & developing relationships with senior level officials & executives
  • An excellent written & verbal communicator; whether in customer conversations, product presentations, or written proposals
  • Commercial intuition & solid judgment; youre not deterred by setbacks & enjoy the process of building high-value relationships over time; you know when to push & when to yield in maximizing the value of a potential deal
  • Comfortable with traveling up to 25% of your time
