About the Role

As Corporate Communications Director, you will oversee corporate & business external news moments as well as communications tied to enhancing Stitch Fixs reputation. In this role, you will also drive the companys executive communications & thought leadership strategy, oversee the corporate editorial communications program & partner with Investor Relations on financial communications.  

To be successful, you will align with executive leadership team members on business goals & create communications plans in support of those objectives. This is a media heavy role, & will involve driving awareness of how Stitch Fix is transforming its business to deliver for its clients & drive sustainable, profitable growth. 

This role will report to Stitch Fixs Vice President of Communications.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will

  • Help tell the story of how Stitch Fix is successfully positioning itself for the future This includes developing a 360-degree strategic communications plan consisting of anchor & incremental news moments tied to the companys business, technology & culture.
  • Lead executive communications for the company This includes the development & execution of thought leadership programs (e.g.,speaking  opportunities & media interviews) for key executives & ensuring executives are prepared for those opportunities. 
  • Serve as the editorial director of our external corporate channels You will be responsible for leveraging our owned platforms, including our corporate newsroom & LinkedIn, to tell the Stitch Fix story. 
  • Be a trusted partner You will interact with the Stitch Fix leadership team often & build trusted relationships with stakeholders across our business to deliver the communications strategy. You will also work with agency partners as an extension of our internal team to drive our corporate narrative. 
  • Manage & enhance Stitch Fixs reputation You will be responsible for our any rapid response & issues management approach & execution.
  • Serve as a corporate spokesperson   You will represent Stitch Fix with media & other key external stakeholders, as well as at key industry events.

  • You have the right breadth of experience You have 10+ years of experience in communication roles (technology & / or retail experience is a plus) with a focus on media relations, thought leadership & issues management. 
  • You are an outstanding storyteller You are capable of taking information & insight to build a compelling narrative. Youre an expert at translating nuanced, complex concepts into broadly digestible content. You think in soundbites, & you have a great gut instinct for a strong angle. You demonstrate excellence in communication across different mediums & audiences.
  • You have a business development mindset  You have a proven track record partnering with executive leadership to understand a business strategy & develop a communications strategy to support it.
  • You understand the industry You have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across the media landscape, especially with tech, retail & business reporters.
  • You can collaborate across teams You demonstrate leadership & strong decision-making skills, but also value input from cross-functional partners & team members, & are comfortable working through ambiguity.
  • You are a self-starter Youre comfortable working in a fast-paced environment & possess a keen sense of what needs to happen & the energy to do it. In short, you get things done.

Compensation & Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, & the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire & ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee & company performance.
