Overview

The Revenue Accountant will play a key role within our revenue accounting team to ensure the accurate accounting & reporting of revenue in accordance with US GAAP. This position requires strong attention to detail & a collaborative mindset. A successful candidate will be an effective communicator & problem-solver who is able to meaningfully collaborate with multiple teammates & across departments. This position requires someone able to work standard business hours, East Coast Time (8am-5pm).

Responsibilities

• Analyze contracts with customers to ensure proper NetSuite customer setup & identify pertinent information to account for revenue transactions consistent with the Companys existing revenue recognition policy & US GAAP, ensuring accurate & timely processing & review based on month-end close & other internal deadlines
• Own the processing of transactions related to new contract setup, contract amendments, terminations, & credit memos in NetSuite
• Identify customer payments & apply cash to open invoices, & assist team with issues & discrepancies around customer account status
• Participate in the month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations & schedules
• Investigate & resolve invoicing issues & questions directly with customers & internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with various departments including sales, legal, business operations, services, accounts payable, billing, & collections to resolve issues as appropriate
• Complete ad hoc reporting & additional project requests as assigned by managers or FPA team members, including occasional assistance with month end close reconciliation reports

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-5 years of hands-on professional experience in a corporate environment
• At least 2 years experience in transaction processing, billing, or revenue accounting experience
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Experience working in Microsoft Excel (i.e. vlookup, pivot table, etc.)
• Ability to investigate billing & revenue questions independently & recommend appropriate solutions
• Ability to process high volumes of transactions with attention to detail & accuracy

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
• Experience using NetSuite & Salesforce
• Prior customer service experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced software/technology company
