Magic Leap is looking for PhD, Masters & Bachelors students to join our team for a 3 month Summer Program for Underrepresented Students in Engineering.

Job Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer Intern to help build data systems that support our Augmented Reality (AR) applications - providing solutions for driving virtual characters based on device sensors. This position will offer you the chance to work closely with deep learning experts, designers & other cross-platform software engineers to collect & process data, & develop functional aspects of the systems used to simulate user actions in shared experiences.  If you are a fast-learner with a positive attitude & a strong passion for working with new technology, come join the Solutions Design Team in redefining the way people experience the world & each other through unique AR technologies.

You will need to go into one of our offices regularly in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Responsibilities

• 2+ years of software development experience with Python
• Strong data processing & organization skills required
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Ability to communicate effectively across teams
• Presents & communicates results & conclusions to the staff.

Must-Haves

• Experience with large data collection systems & automatic labeling a plus
• Experience integrating deep learning projects in Unity
• Experience with machine learning architectures & design a plus
• Experience with motion tracking systems including eye & hand tracking
• Experience with development for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), or other forms of head mounted displays (HMDs) a plus

Education

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor/Master's program in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent experience
