Why is this role so important at Similarweb?

Youll be part of the group responsible for Similarwebs main products. You will impact the work of developers in the group by designing, building & maintaining the core infrastructure of our solution & leading the research & development of new technologies as well as maintaining code standards & practices.

You will be working on Similarwebs core B2B platform that serves tens of thousands of customers, serving hundreds of terabytes in production. Our backend engineers are responsible for the entire data lifecycle - from our endless datatlakes, through choosing the right serving methods & databases, all the way to our api services.

So, what will you be doing all day?

• Developing tools & libraries to help other developers to concentrate on fulfilling business requirements
• Define & develop best practices for healthy production & rapid development without compromising code quality & performance
• Improve stability & efficiency of production services
• Develop & maintain core backend components
• Perform POCs on new technologies & implement them in dev teams
• Lead technical initiatives across different teams
• Troubleshoot complex production issues
• Developing our architecture ensuring development velocity & scale

This is the perfect job for someone who:

• A BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 7+ years of hands-on coding experience in languages like Python, C#, Java, Node.js, Scala, or Go.
• Experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or large-scale web applications.
• Experience improving stability of large-scale systems using monitoring, solving bottle-necks & making appropriate changes.
• High coding standards, working independently & experience leading long term tech tasks involving many teams & stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud services, specifically AWS.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
