System Test Engineer (Contractor)

Job Description
Apollo Autonomous Driving USA (a subsidiary of Baidu) is looking for a System Test Engineer (Contractor) to work closely with our development teams, ensuring that autonomous driving systems meet design specifications & performance requirements. The teams charter is to develop & validate state-of-the-art sensor systems (LiDAR, Radar, Camera, & integrated platforms) for autonomous vehicles.
In this role, you will be responsible for testing LiDAR, Radar, & integrated autonomous driving systems. You will develop test plans, execute tests, document results, & report defects to ensure system reliability & functionality. The ideal candidate will have experience in sensor testing, strong analytical skills, & the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What Youll Do:
Test Planning & Design
- Develop comprehensive test plans & test cases based on system requirements & design specifications.
- Identify test scenarios & create detailed test.
- Define test objectives, scope, & success criteria.
Test Execution
- Execute manual & automated tests to validate sensor functionality, performance, & reliability.
- Perform stress, load, & scalability testing to evaluate sensor/system performance under various conditions.
Documentation
- Document test results, including pass/fail status, defects, & performance metrics.
- Create & maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, & traceability matrices.
Collaboration
- Work closely with development teams, product managers, & cross-functional teams to align on testing goals & deliverables.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, & methodologies.
What We Look For:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in system testing or a related role
- Experience with sensor testing
- Experience with the basic concepts of LiDAR/Radars, etc.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated testing tools (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Familiarity with ADAS or autonomous driving systems.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting.
- Experience working in automotive or robotics testing environments.
