THE ROLE: On-Call Photo Assistant

An On Call Photo Assistant who will work closely with the production team in the studio & on location. Primary duties will be assisting with equipment, lighting, grip, sets, tethered capture, & packing for location. Secondary duties will be maintaining studio organization, cleanliness, & other various tasks. This is a great opportunity to work with a wonderful group of creative people while gaining experience as an integral piece of our online business. You will work with the latest in retail photography in a strong, team-oriented environment. 

This position is working onsite at our Boston, MA location & anticipated working days fall between Monday through Friday. 

What Youll Do:

• Assist Photographers on set to create strong editorial imagery for Rue La La & Gilt boutiques.
• Overall setup & breakdown of daily sets. 
• Various set tasks include putting up & taking down backdrops & flooring, lighting setup, collaborating with art directors, etc. 
• Ensure metadata is accurate for each product being photographed on set. 
• Assist with tracking & organization of all equipment & props. 
• Assist with various tasks needed by the Studio team.
• Learn what it takes to make the magic happen!

• 1+ years of photography experience or photography education background. Photo assistant experience preferred.
• Experience with Profoto lighting, Canon camera systems, & Capture One Pro.
• Understanding of Grip equipment (stands, clamps, booms, scrims, etc).
• Must be a self-starter, with a strong sense of teamwork in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent organization & communication skills required. 
• Must have a great attitude & a passion for the creative environment.
• Portfolio a plus.
• Lifting will be involved. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 
• Able to stand for up to approximately 8 hours.
