The Staff Accountant role is based in our Boston, MA HQ with a flexible hybrid schedule.

What Youll Do:

• As part of the monthly accounting close, prepare journal entries, analyze results & reconcile balance sheet accounts for assigned areas to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate & in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Interact with operational departments to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely & accurate monthly reporting.
• Perform monthly expense trend & budget vs. actual analyses for review with key department personnel.
• Identify process improvements in month-end close process.
• Assist in ad hoc projects, including the annual financial statement audit & bank audits

• Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1-2 years accounting experience; inventory / retail environment a plus
• Knowledge of an ERP accounting system, with PeopleSoft experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, & a passion for learning
• Public accounting experience (Big 4 a plus) preferred
