About our Market Research Demand Engineering team

The Market Research product helps businesses understand market needs, industry trends, & buyer feedback. This is an exciting new space, ripe for innovation & helps millions of people make a wide variety of product & marketing decisions every day. We have agile engineering, product, & design teams dedicated to enhancing our offerings in this quickly evolving space. As a high-growth business unit we are pushing the boundaries of innovation for quantitative online survey data building automated solutions for some of the company's most valuable customers. Were competing head to head with incumbents (Qualtrics) & new brands (Zappi, Quantilope), so you can expect a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

The Market Research Platform engineering team is a core part of Market Research. We are accountable for the backend services that power the product from self-serve DIY use cases to highly specialized market research solutions.

What we're looking for

Were looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Market Research Platform team. As the leader of this team, youll work closely with various stakeholders across Market Research, AI teams within Momentive as well as external partners/services to build APIs & services that deliver a compelling product. 

We are looking for someone who has a passion for solving new & interesting problems. We welcome new ideas & fresh perspectives which can help grow our team, & our platform both internally & with our customers. Your contributions will be extremely important to the success of the team through your mentorship, experience & leadership. You will continuously build & expand your own technical expertise as well as drive excellence in engineering within the team.

You will

  • Hire & retain world-class talent
  • Facilitate career growth for your team members through coaching, frequent feedback & providing opportunities to develop their strengths & acquire new skills.
  • Work closely with various stakeholders (cross functional partners & other engineering leaders) & development team to ideate on ways to drive growth
  • Be a key player in cross-team technical initiatives & own the technical aspects of software architecture & development
  • Continuously build & expand your own technical expertise as well as drive excellence in engineering within the team

You have

  • 2+ years of experience managing successful teams
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend APIs & services
  • Great communication skills & the ability to work with both co-located & remote engineers & cross-functional partners 
  • Experience leading & shipping large-scale cross functional projects
  • Deep expertise in designing & building world-class services & APIs
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, especially AWS
  • Expertise with, & an excellent track record using Python/Ruby on Rails at scale
