About the role

The Manager of Value Based Contracting (VBC) is responsible for leading all activities related to program implementation goals to ensure success for Oscar's VBC & operational standardization needs. Additionally, the manager will identify & drive operational improvements for core operations, including proper controls & monitoring, ensure operational efficiency & effectiveness, oversee & coordinate the program across the organization & help identify & implement project management fundamentals & standards across the organization.

You will be directly reporting to the Director of Value Based Contracting.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office ( in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, & Washington is: $103,200 - $135,450 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $92,880 - $121,905 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Organize & lead daily activities to drive VBC's operational & program excellence
  • Identify, develop & implement program strategy, optimizations & tooling that support the organization's objectives
  • Meet with stakeholders to discuss program status & goals
  • Oversee implementations end to end to ensure program success
  • Partner with other departments & various stakeholders such as data, actuarial, tech, contracting, legal, operations, & Regional P&L teams, etc. to optimize VBC's operational excellence & contracting lifecycle
  • Analyze VBC's program risks & anticipate risks & issues. This includes proactive flagging of issues, managing escalations, & tracking & helping to resolve risks & issues.
  • Ensure proper controls & monitoring are in place for the VBC program
  • Work with leadership & the program stakeholders to lead VBC program retros & assess program strengths & weaknesses
  • Ensure proper metrics are in place to measure program success
  • Organize & catalog meeting notes, action items, decisions made, & follow-ups in leadership meetings, or as needed
  • Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of program & project management in the health insurance space
  • 4+ years experience in change management & process improvement

Bonus Points

  • Healthcare experience
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification

Travel

  • Yes, up to 10%

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
