Staff Accountant, App Subscription at Peloton In NYC

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Staff Accountant, Subscription to help manage & support our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for the business & will be a natural numbers wizard who is able to effectively demonstrate software tools such as Excel & Alteryx to enhance efficiency & effectiveness of their processes. In addition, the candidate has a strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, & experience working with internal & external auditors. They are an analytical problem solver with a data driven background that supports cross-functional work streams. YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

Play an important role as a preparer in the month-end close processes for App Subscription Revenue, App Platform Subscription Revenue, App Partnership Revenue & Expense & other assigned General Ledger accounts, as necessary
Book monthly journal entries & prepare related account reconciliations
Ensure data integrity for assigned accounts including understanding of required upstream internal controls over financial reporting
Continuously evaluate areas for process improvement & create new efficiencies
Assist in the calculation, presentation, & communication of company wide KPIs
Assist with analyzing financial results on a monthly basis & report on variances versus plan & prior periods to efficiently report results to upper management & internal business partners
Assist in the development of SOX compliant documentation of internal controls
Assist with internal & external audit requests during quarterly & year-end audits
Partake in ad hoc team projects & analysis, including new system implementations
Support cross-functional business partners, including FP&A, Data Science, Accounts Payable, Legal, Strategy, Finance Transformation & IT

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

1-2 years of general Accounting experience - Big 4 Public Accounting experience preferred
Education and/or comparable professional experience in Accounting or related field
Active CPA, highly preferred
In-depth knowledge of accounting theory & application of U.S. GAAP
Experience with working in a complex ERP system; SEC experience a plus
Experience in SaaS or technology business preferred, ASC 606 experience a plus
Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal & external business partners at various levels in a clear & concise manner
Proactive self-starter & team player with strong work ethic who enjoys a fast-paced environment & an ability to prioritize, multi-task, & meet pressing timelines
Tech-savvy Microsoft Excel super-user (candidate must be comfortable working with & analyzing large datasets)
Experience working with various systems including, but not limited to NetSuite, Subscription Billing Platforms, SAP, Coupa, Kyriba, CoStar, Blackline, Alteryx & Workiva is a plus
