Apollo Autonomous Driving USA (a subsidiary of Baidu) is looking for an electrical engineering team lead. The teams charter is to design state-of-the-art heterogeneous computing systems to meet the stringent target of cost, performance, & functional safety. The person will be involved in all design phases of autonomous driving systems, from concept, architecture, design, simulations, validation, product development & deployment, & customer support. The candidates must have very strong background & track record in electrical system architecture, circuit design & validation, & work in a dynamic environment.
Position Responsibility
- Lead the EE design teams to define the computation hardware feature requirements.
- Develop the heterogenous computation system including CPUs, AI accelerators, GPUs, memory, network, storage, power systems, & etc., to ensure design meeting the stringent automotive grade standards.
- Define electronic circuit architectures & design features (DFM/DFT/DFI), sub-system functionalities & performance target.
- Lead a multi-site team to execute design concept, schematics, layout, & validation, analyze issues & bugs, & drive solutions.
- Develop the EE design with vendors/suppliers, internal validation teams, product manufactures, & car OEMs to track issues in high volume manufacturing, validation & production.
- Build up design process & methodology to ensure products can be scaled to much higher volume in the future
Qualification
- M.S. or Ph.D degree in electrical engineering or related fields. Have 10+ year experience in x86 or ARM computing hardware design & validation.
- 5+ years team lead/manager or project management experiences.
- Expertise in board design, CPU/GPU/FPGA/networking/storage architecture, & design spec is a must. Knowledge on functional safety, power generation & delivery, high speed IO & RF design is a plus.
- Must have hands-on experiences in both board design, bring-up & electrical validation.
- Strong analytical skills & ability to collect information & identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, & interpret information from several sources.
- Well communication to convey information clearly & accurately, as well as choosing the most effective method of delivery (e.g., email, phone, face-to-face).
- Experience & ability to develop, coach, & mentor team members. This includes the ability to provide development experiences, advise, & teach to prepare team member for effective job performance.
- Great project management skills for purposes of planning & decision-making. This includes developing & communicating objectives, timelines, assignments, & goals.
