Now, were looking for a Director Digital Marketing to help shape how we future-proof our digital properties. 

This role is aligned to the Cloudways business unit. You will own the vision & strategy for the Cloudways website, optimizing web marketing operations to drive customer acquisition & revenue growth through self-serve & product-led growth (PLG). This is a senior-level role with complete ownership of our go-to-market engine (i.e. our website), requiring you to bring deep technology marketing (Martech) & digital user experience strategies across the full acquisition funnel. Using your knowledge of SaaS technology and/or eCommerce GTM models, you will identify customer lifecycle tactics to scale user conversion, encourage product adoption, & build customer loyalty through cost effective growth strategies.

As the leader of our digital marketing function, you will manage the team responsible for conversion rate optimization, online pre-sales engagement, email marketing programs, & customer lifecycle marketing initiatives, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing. You will work within a cross-functional Marketing, Product, & Engineering matrix to ensure our website & digital properties are equipped to deliver a seamless customer user experience, grow online sales, & move prospects through the sign-up to conversion funnel, while tightly monitoring core business KPIs.

This position is fully remote in the UK, with occasional international travel required.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Single-threaded owner of the Cloudways website, using data-driven insights to scale user acquisition & revenue growth aligned to PLG principles.
  • Develop & execute data-driven digital marketing strategies to enhance the entire customer lifecycle, from acquisition to advocacy.
  • Champion experimentation, utilizing analytics, A/B testing, & marketing automation tools to drive user engagement & increase conversion funnel success.
  • Uncover opportunities for automation & AI to help streamline existing processes & resolve points of friction within the user journey.
  • Oversee the design & optimization of email marketing & digital customer engagement programs to nurture prospects, improve conversion & server launch rates.
  • Research & identify opportunities by evaluating the needs of the business & monitoring trends in the competitive context to find the platforms, tools, & technologies that can modernize our Martech stack.
  • Directly own reporting, ensuring high-quality analysis & effective communication of results to leadership in a clear & transparent way.

What Youll Add to Cloudways:

  • 15+ years of global marketing experience managing a digital function, ideally in the SaaS, cloud technology, or web hosting sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of PLG in the context of how to scale a fast-moving online business.
  • Extensive experience with vetting, onboarding, & managing web CMS, Martech & CRM solutions. Familiarity with WordPress, Mixpanel, Hotjar, & GA4 is a bonus.
  • Solid budget management & commercial acumen, with the ability to dive deep into financial metrics to make data-oriented decisions.
  • A high EQ leader who enjoys collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals & who is invested in coaching team members to learn & grow.
  • Able to effectively communicate nuanced ideas with clarity, setting clear expectations for what needs to be achieved & why.
  • A player-coach mentality.
