We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead our Kubernetes  product initiatives & drive innovation across our product portfolio. This role is ideal for a highly strategic, technically proficient leader who can drive product vision & execution at scale. Youll work with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, marketers, & business leaders to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions that empower developers & businesses to succeed.

What Youll Be Doing

As a Product Manager for Kubernetes Services at DigitalOcean, you will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, & execution of our Kubernetes offerings  Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining & owning the product vision, strategy, & roadmap for DigitalOcean Kubernetes & Container Registry Services, aligning with overall company & product goals, with a particular focus on how Kubernetes enables users to effectively scale & manage their applications on DigitalOcean 
  • Conducting market research & customer analysis to identify opportunities & unmet needs in the Kubernetes & container orchestration space, including understanding user requirements for cluster configuration, networking within Kubernetes, storage provisioning, & integration with CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Driving support for accelerated computing workloads (GPU-enabled nodes) & exploring the use of Generative AI to enhance Day 2 operations, such as automated troubleshooting, intelligent alerting, & proactive cluster optimization.
  • Gathering & prioritizing product requirements from internal stakeholders & external customers, translating them into actionable specifications for new Kubernetes features & enhancements, such as node pool management, autoscaling capabilities, & simplified cluster upgrades
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, design, & other cross-functional teams to define, build, & launch new features & improvements to the Kubernetes service, ensuring robustness, security, & performance. This includes defining the user experience for deploying, managing, & monitoring Kubernetes clusters on DigitalOcean
  • Defining & analyzing key metrics to measure the success of the Kubernetes product & identify areas for optimization, such as cluster adoption rates, resource utilization within clusters, & user satisfaction with the Kubernetes experience
  • Working with marketing & sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies & ensure successful product launches, highlighting the benefits of running Kubernetes on DigitalOcean, such as its integration with other services & ease of management 
  • Contributing to relevant content & resources such as Tutorials & Documentation to help users effectively adopt & utilize DigitalOcean Kubernetes, providing guidance on topics like deploying applications, configuring networking, & managing storage within a Kubernetes environment 
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape & staying up-to-date with the latest trends & technologies in Kubernetes & cloud-native computing, including advancements in CNCF projects & best practices for container orchestration 
  • Engaging with the DigitalOcean community to gather feedback & understand user pain points related to Kubernetes, actively participating in forums & other channels to address their needs & inform the product roadmap.

What Well Expect From You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, & best practices, including experience with cluster setup, networking, storage & application deployment strategies 
  • Experience with cloud platforms & services, & a strong understanding of how Kubernetes integrates with core cloud infrastructure components 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, & leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical & non-technical audiences 
  • Proven ability to define & drive product strategy & execution for a technically complex product.
  • Technical background or strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand & discuss technical details with engineering teams .
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Experience with other container technologies such as Docker.
  • Active participation in the Kubernetes community, contributing to open-source projects or engaging in community forums will be a plus
  • Familiarity with DigitalOcean's product offerings is a plus

  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $165,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, & skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company & individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire & the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
