As an Associate 3D Director, you oversee 3D production across the entire 3D project pipeline. You engage with both creative & client teams to lead real-time production sessions involving design, account, & client stakeholders, & foster a culture of collaborative learning & development of emerging talent.   This role shapes the creative objectives, driving towards exceptional visual & technical outcomes. 


You will: 

  • Contribute during creative ideation & project planning sessions
  • Manage & oversee key tasks of your lead artists
  • Survey & supervise the intake of complex CAD or 3D files
  • Scope & direct 3D ingest efforts when preparing files for Unreal Engine
  • Estimate level of effort for team members based on level of experience
  • Eliminate technical constrains to achieve creative goals
  • Report on progress, problem solve & moderate between creative & 3D artists
  • Establish quality report guidelines & practices
  • Communicate concise & constructive feedback to 3D artists
  • Perform final checks on rendered images, animations & interactive components
  • Complete fidelity evaluations in variety of content publishing platforms
  • Continuously optimize all 3D workflow tracks & implement learnings
  • Drive design reviews & Real-Time Virtual Production Sessions
  • Actively participate in planning & recruitment process
  • Assess & understand team expansion, operations, strategic planning & adept conflict resolution within the discipline
  • Drive design reviews effectively
  • Provide solutions to challenges that arise during a project lifecycle
  • Assume responsibility for the team & the work
  • Measure the pulse of the team through competency, strength & wellbeing
  • Be a strategic collaborator with the 3D Directors or Group 3D Directors, contributing to the growth, leadership & mentorship of the discipline
  • Take an active role in talent acquisition & training, directing innovative learning programs for new & existing talent
  • Improve existing training & processes for the betterment of team efficiency

You have:

  • Experience working/leading in a high demand 3D environment
  • Proficiency with 3D assets (Maya 3D, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine)
  • Proficiency with high-end rendering pipelines
  • Excellent knowledge of film, real-time development & virtual production process
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest 3D & Unreal Engine best practices
  • Comfortability with pipeline management, data management & asset tracking software
  • Exceptional quality evaluation skills
  • Strong understanding of delivery specs & exporting standards
  • Superb verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent planning & team building skills
  • Detail-oriented & problem-solving skills
