As an IDP - Team Lead at Via, youll join our R&D center in TLV.  Youll be leading a team of developers, directly contributing to our product by using cutting-edge technologies. Youll take a critical part in our mission to shape the future of transportation, affecting tens of thousands of riders daily worldwide.

The Developer Platform Team, to be established by the new Team Leader, is set to be a pivotal, cross-functional team aiming to revolutionize software development efficiency & quality across the company. The team will collaborate with multiple development teams to build & maintain essential code packages that support our infrastructure & ensure seamless operations across all backend services. Key projects include the development of telemetry extensions, side containers, & core communication libraries for distributed systems.
In addition to infrastructure, the team will focus on enhancing the developer experience through innovative tools, such as IDE plugins & CI/CD solutions that incorporate AI, aimed at improving code quality & preemptively solving issues. The team will also be responsible for defining company-wide coding standards & developing template guidelines for service-related code, establishing a benchmark for excellence & uniformity in software development at Via.

What Youll Do:

  • Be the full tech owner of your teams products
  • Growing & mentoring your team members
  • Take end-to-end professional responsibility over your teams Agile development life-cycle
  • Proactively build your team, recruiting & on-boarding
  • Be a hands-on developer in your team - designing, coding, & delivering features to production
  • Lead the teams atmosphere & culture
  • Collaborate with dozens of dev teams that will use your tech stack in their production services

Who You Are:

  • BSc. Computer Science or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Python
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in any of the following C/C++/Go/Rust/Java/C#
  • Multithreading, multiprocessing experience in different types of environments - low & high level
  • Experience with distributed systems & micro-services environments
  • Devops practices, CI/CD pipelines & development processes
  • Observability concepts & hands-on implementation experience
  • Cloud technologies: AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Serverless
  • Independent, responsible, with a true desire to make an impact
  • Passionate about software engineering & constantly expanding your knowledge
  • An expert in balancing the trade-offs between technical & product priorities
  • Enjoys working with people
  • Driven by tough challenges, & producing reliable & scalable solutions
  • Enthusiastic about code quality, concepts, architecture, design, testing, & performance
