About this team & role:

The Firefox UX team works on products & services that keep the Internet open & accessible for all. We are a global, mission-driven organization & we strive to put peoples needs at the core of everything we do. 

As a Senior Content Designer on the UX team, you will bring a deep appreciation for & expertise in the role language plays in the design process. You will collaborate closely with UX designers & user researchers on fully remote, cross-functional teams to co-design experiences in our core browser products. Youll write the words that help people accomplish tasks in Firefox. 

In particular, this role will be focused on Firefoxs homepage experience across the desktop & mobile browsers. Youll be responsible for creating the content strategy, information architecture, & overall product copy for Firefoxs front page. At Mozilla, Content Designers typically embed with cross-functional teams on priority projects. They also support as-needed string requests, develop & implement content frameworks, & support content needs for the Firefox design system. What youll do: 

  • Create content requirements & all content deliverables for priority projects (deliverables include content audits, strategy & planning documents, microcopy, taxonomies, nomenclature & style guidelines, copy decks, release notes, etc.).
  • Work closely with your UX colleagues, as well as product management, engineering, localization, & legal, to define & measure success. You will be responsible for ensuring the resulting content meets requirements & is production-ready.
  • Contribute to the content design practice by following existing guidelines, proposing new guidelines, & sharing insights & best practices within & outside of the UX department. 
  • Share your work & provide feedback to other design team members to ensure a cohesive design language across products & experiences.
  • Use existing Firefox research & data to surface insights that help to solve business & user problems.
  • Partner with designers & researchers to run evaluative & usability tests of prototypes, with a focus on copy & content design issues.

What youll bring: 

  • 5+ years of professional UX writing/content design/content strategy, editorial, or copywriting experience
  • Has a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to solve user problems & create copy & content design deliverables for product development
  • Experience working on a product design team in an agile environment
  • Can write clearly & concisely, with an appropriate voice for product, & a lens for global localization
  • A passion for quality content & thoughtful work
  • Strives to understand the needs of users, & leads with research & insights
  • Interest in & commitment to inclusive writing
