WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

Box is looking for a security tooling engineer who can onboard, deploy & optimize infrastructure security tools.This person will implement, optimize & automate testing solutions that scale the identification of security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, malicious activity & anti-patterns with high quality output.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Implement data-driven enhancement strategies for run-time vulnerability scanning & run-time monitoring for compute & container workloads, including troubleshooting & continuous process improvement.
• You will research, evaluate & implement new cloud-based security technologies & tools
• You will work closely with compliance, engineering, SRE teams & other engineering groups on implementing new solutions
• Provide vulnerability risk & remediation analysis
• You will deliver designs, analysis, architecture & automation to improve risk posture & to secure Box infrastructure & processes
• Implement automation of security scanning & monitoring across development processes & tools
• Support & grow a high performing organization that is building the services that reduce attack surface  & help drive preventative measures throughout Box's systems & production environment
• Will be a part of on-call rotation
• Shifted hours occasionally needed for collaboration with the Global Security & Engineering Teams

WHO YOU ARE

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in a DevOps, System Engineer or SysAdmin role, Security experience a plus
• Interest in the InfoSec field (ISC2 CC, Security+, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security Specialty, etc)
• Working knowledge in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure), GCP preferred
• Experience in aligning system & tooling configurations to security and/or compliance controls
• Demonstrated experience in configuring cloud applications, services & distributed systems
• Aptitude for automating & making processes more efficient
• Experience with high-availability operations management, including deployment automation, patching & rollback strategies
• Ability to showcase creative, critical & independent thinking capabilities & troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in thoroughly documenting work & designs 
• Hands-on experience in Linux
• Knowledge of the security aspects of VMs, containers & Kubernetes
• Passionate about engineering perfection, performance, & quality
• Enthusiasm for new technologies & growth
